Booking Your Tattoo

Wondering where to start when it comes to booking your tattoo? Whether you have a custom tattoo idea or just want a fun little skin-sticker from a flash sheet, this guide will give you in-depth insight into the booking and tattooing process with Black Diamond Tattoo - from requesting your consultation appointment, all the way to the aftercare process.

A little bit about our process …
At Black Diamond Tattoo, our artists are devoted to developing their preferred and practiced art styles. This means that we can offer not only a diverse range of styles, but artists that are well-practiced in their favoured styles. This allows them to produce high-quality and consistent tattoos that go above and beyond client expectations.

Because our artists have the freedom to be self-managing, this means they are sometimes selective in the work they undertake, depending on their current availability. Our artists also have full control over their own diaries and schedules, allowing them to manage their workloads and accommodate to client needs with ease if possible.

Sounds great! Now what?

Step 1
Now that you’ve decided to get a tattoo, the first thing to do is submit your Consultation Request Form. This form asks for everything we need to fully understand your desires as a client. When filling out this form, you will be able to select your favoured artist who’s style you’d like, or you can choose to be directed to the most suitable/next available artist based on your ideas. Our studio assistant endeavours to respond to initial enquiries within 3 business days, please follow up if you have not had a response within that timeframe.

Step 2
Once your Consultation Request Form has been submitted, our studio assistant Tayla will review it, ensure all required information is received, and then direct your enquiry to an artist. All communications are via email (or sometimes Direct Message) to ensure a paper-trail that you and your artist can refer to when needed.

Step 3
Your artist will reach out to you via email to offer you an appointment for either a consultation, or to begin tattooing (keep an eye on your junk/spam folders – first-time emails often get flagged as spam!). The type of appointment that you will be offered is dependent on your design needs – e.g., if you’re seeking a custom tattoo incorporating multiple elements, a consultation is, in most cases, necessary. When your design is straightforward or is a flash piece pre-drawn by an artist, you may find your artist is happy to go straight to booking the tattoo.

If a consultation is required, your artist will ask you to come into the studio to chat face-to-face about your desired tattoo outcomes. After the consultation, if you are satisfied that you’ve found the right artist for your needs, you can confirm a date to begin tattooing.

Please note that consultations are free of charge, but it is standard practice for your artist to request a deposit (of between $50-$200) to secure your tattooing appointment. Please see our deposit and cancellation policy for further information.

Step 4
Once your booking is secured via your deposit, all that’s left to do is wait!

We do understand that life happens and can get the best of us, so if anything should happen between booking your appointment and the appointment date, please reach out to the studio or your artist and we’ll be more than happy to chat about your circumstances to ensure the best outcome for you and your artist.
